THE SHADOWS OF 1915 Cover Image

Jerry Burger chose Mount Ararat, the peak which tradition says holds Noah's Ark, as cover image for The Shadows of 1915.   Mount Ararat remains a central symbol of Armenian culture more than a century after the massacres known as the Armenian genocide.  Its shadows, its nature as volcano, its contested status as Turkish or Armenian land--all make the choice right for this novel.  Set in 1953 among the children of Armenian immigrants in Fresno, California, The Shadows of 1915 belongs with the best of post-Holocaust literature.
